Series: Comments on Galatians
Christ Jesus has so thoroughly conquered sin, death, wrath, hell, and the devil that he has despoiled these enemies of grace. He has left them on the battlefield, stripped of all power, their weapons and armor in heap at their feet. They have no power over Christ their conqueror and thus, they have no power over his followers. This is the victory that overcomes sin, death, wrath, hell, the devil, and the whole world: faith in Christ. You may not feel like a world conqueror; you may not feel like you have much control over your immediate situation of life, let alone a world. But victory does not depend upon the way you feel about things. Faith is the victory, not feelings. The one who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he who has left his enemies disarmed, she is the one who overwhelms the world
